This rare Louis Vuitton trunk from the 1910s is entirely covered in natural leather with its original side handles — the most prestigious and costly finish offered by the Maison at the time. Because this dense and delicate leather required expert care and dedicated staff to transport it, very few examples have survived in such beautiful condition. The unusual, feminine format was likely custom-made for a lady traveler, with an original interior that includes a felt-lined lower level for boots, a hat compartment secured with crossed ribbons, refined quilting, the authentic Louis Vuitton label, and a painted number “6” indicating it belonged to a larger matching set.

In very good overall condition, the trunk displays a superb leather patina, a complete and intact interior, and a solid structure. Its compact size and elegant proportions make it especially desirable for contemporary interiors, functioning beautifully as a side table, nightstand, or decorative accent. A similar model with comparable dimensions is also available, making for a refined and harmonious pairing.
